On October 18, 2008 during the annual Survivors Tribute Weekend, the Wall of Honor was unveiled to the surviving families of the 122 Troopers killed in the line of duty. It was then unveiled to the public on November 20, 2008 during a dedication ceremony at the NYSP Academy.

The Trooper Foundation reconstructed the Memorial Wall and dedicates it to those 122 brave men who paid the ultimate sacrifice. The cost at $180,000 was generated through corporate and private donations to fund this project. Not one dollar of restricted monies such as: Disaster Relief fund or Trooper Foundation Scholarship fund dollars was used toward the reconstruction of the Wall of Honor. There have been comments made such as "that's certainly a lot of money" that the cost of the wall at $180,000 was high but the Trooper Foundation is honored to be able to memorialize the 122 members who gave the ultimate sacrifice, the family members they left behind and the Troopers who put their lives on the line on a daily basis. How much is too much to memorialize those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for you and I?

The Trooper Foundation is dedicated to helping our New York State Troopers better serve you—and better help our community. Your public donations and support for the Foundation make the difference—where governmental funding alone cannot satisfy training, technological and program services needs. Your tax-deductible contribution to the Foundation ensures that our Troopers can keep helping for generations to come. This website outlines just some of the things we do and ways you can continue to help.
